Deadly Miami Car Crashes

On Saturday, February 22, 2014, three Deadly Miami Car Crashes took the lives of a total of 5 people and caused serious injury to an additional 8 more people. According to The Miami Herald, the first was a single car accident that killed a 14 year old girl and injured 6 others when an SUV crashed through and went over the guardrail while driving on the Julia Tuttle Causeway. The SUV ended upside-down about 50 feet off of the road. Several of the passengers were apparently not wearing seatbelts and were thrown from the vehicle. A different crash near Doral left 2 people dead and a third seriously injured and treated at Ryder Trauma Center. Another crash involved a truck rear-ending a Toyota Corolla on the Palmetto Expressway. This collision caused the passenger of the Toyota to die after being transported to Ryder Trauma Center. Finally, early Saturday a 4 year old was struck by a vehicle in Miami Gardens. After being helicoptered to Miami Children’s Hospital – she died late Saturday night.
